UWA on 26 February 2026 update introduced low-season permit rates for April, May and November slashing Gorilla tracking to $600 and Chimp tracking to $200.

For those travelers planning a Uganda safari, this is big news. The changes affect budget travel timing and the overall of a Uganda safari trip. On addition to that, UWA has also launched new specialist experiences like Rhino tracking in Ajai Wildlife Reserve, introducing Golden Cat tracking in Kibale National Park, Hot Air balloons in Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Parks, Canopy walk in Sebitoli construction commenced, Glass Bridge in Murchison EIA is being concluded.

Key Highlights of the UWA Tariff Update

The cost of a Uganda gorilla permit costs US$800, but the surprise is the price remains unchanged. Many people expected an increase, but UWA kept this price the same. However, several other experience have become expensive.
